Does it adjust for daylight saving time?
Yes. Times come from your browser's time-zone data, which includes daylight saving changes. India does not use daylight saving.
What is IST?
Indian Standard Time is UTC + 5:30 and is used across India.
How does the map show day and night?
The shaded area is where the sun has set, worked out from the sun's position at this moment and updated every minute. The yellow dot marks the place where the sun is directly overhead.
